Welcome to Louisville, KY and the 17th Annual Nursing Organizations Alliance Fall Summit!
Welcome to the 17th Annual Nursing Organizations Alliance Fall Summit! We are thrilled to come together in Louisville, Kentucky, founded in 1778 as one of the oldest cities west of the Appalachian Mountains. Today the city is known as the home of the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Fried Chicken, the University of Louisville, and the Louisville Cardinals, Louisville Slugger baseball bats, and three of Kentucky’s six Fortune 500 companies. Its main airport is also the site of United Parcel Service’s worldwide air hub.
This year’s summit features a fabulous lineup of programming, with festivities beginning Thursday. We hope you can make it to the Opening Reception Thursday at 5:30 p.m., and if you’re a new member or a first-time attendee, stop by earlier for the First Time Attendee event from 5:00-5:30 p.m. Make sure you visit our vendors in the Exhibit Hall, take advantage of our fun program offerings like the Discussion Deck networking session on Friday and our wellness break Friday afternoon. We feel confident you will enjoy our keynote speaker Alice Benjamin, RN, Clinical Nurse Specialist, ER nurse, author and top tier medical trained expert who will present on Using Media for Advocacy. Other sessions not to be missed: Enhancing Your Exhibitor/Sponsorship Program-Learning from your Target Audience; What is the GDPR and How Do We Get Compliant? and Home Telehealth From Past to Present. Additionally, at the Annual Business Meeting (Friday, 4:00-4:30 p.m.), we will elect two Coordinating Team members, provide an update on this year’s NOA activities, reveal what’s to come in 2019 and hear from you on how NOA is meeting your needs
or what additional value it could be providing. We hope you find value in the Fall Summit as well as the other programs we offer:
- Nurse In Washington Internship (NIWI) is March 24-26, 2019, in Washington, D.C. This three-day meeting brings together nurses from across the country and teaches them how to influence policy at the local and national level.
- Nursing Alliance Leadership Academy (NALA) takes place August 24-25, 2019, in Louisville, Kentucky. This two-day conference prepares nurses to serve on professional associations’ board of directors.
- Webinars are offered up to three times throughout the year on topics identified through our member surveys. The webinars are recorded and available through the online member community if you are not able to view as scheduled.
I hope that you enjoy yourself, network with attendees and make the most of our time together.
