Welcome to Birmingham, AL and the 16th Annual Nursing Organizations Alliance Fall Summit!
Welcome to the 16th Annual Nursing Organizations Alliance Fall Summit! We are thrilled to come together in Birmingham, Alabama, once an industrial hub of the Deep South. From its founding in 1871 until the later 1960s, Birmingham’s major industries were iron, steel and railroading. And as the times changed and technology advanced, the town switched gears, so to speak, and broadened its offerings. Now it’s known for its numerous banking, business, telecommunications, transportation, electrical power transmission, medical care, college education and insurance economic activities. Here’s hoping that this summit does just that for each of you: prompts you to think differently about your practice. All aboard!
This year’s summit features a stellar lineup of programming, with festivities beginning Thursday. We hope you can make it to the Opening Reception Thursday at 5:30 p.m., and if you’re a new member or a first-time attendee, stop by earlier for the 1st Time Attendee event from 5:00-5:30 p.m. Make sure you visit our vendors in the Exhibit Hall, take advantage of our fun program offerings like the Discussion Deck networking session on Friday and our wellness break Friday afternoon. Other sessions not to be missed feature folks in our industry sharing how they got where they are in their careers, a panel on diversity and inclusion, and The 4 Disciplines of Execution. Additionally, at the Annual Business Meeting (Friday, 4:00-4:45 p.m.), we will elect two Coordinating Team members, provide an update on our rebranding efforts and vote on the new proposed purpose statement.
We hope you find value in the Fall Summit as well as the other programs we offer:
- Nurse In Washington Internship (NIWI) is March 11-13, 2018, in Washington, D.C. This three-day meeting brings together all nursing specialties to speak as one voice on issues common to the nursing profession.
- Nursing Alliance Leadership Academy (NALA) takes place August 25-26, 2018, in Louisville, Kentucky. This two-day conference prepares nurses to serve on professional associations’ board of directors.
- Webinars are offered at least three times throughout the year on topics identified through our member surveys. The webinars are recorded and available if you are not able to view as scheduled.
I hope that you enjoy yourself and make the most of our time together.
